Business Development Manager – Financial Services

H2R Consulting are super excited to be assisting a Wellington based growth business locate a talented Business Development Manager. This is a crucial role in charge of driving new business and fostering existing warm business. 

We are looking for an experienced BDM with a strong track record. The desired candidate will also have strong knowledge of Financial Services, in particular working in a business that offers end-investor interfaces and adviser-led wealth solutions. 

In return this role is paying a market leading base salary. This salary is guaranteed and is not a base plus commission model.

The company is an innovative and growing company dedicated to transforming the financial services industry in New Zealand. They specialise in investment administration services for funds and wealth management, along with providing advanced wealth management tools. Their experienced team uses a unique platform which is developed in-house to deliver these services.

As Business Development Manager (BDM) you will play a pivotal role in the overall growth story, increasing the velocity of new client interactions. The existing clients have been delighted with the services provided, and you will be able to leverage that good will when targeting other prospects in the market.

Role Purpose

  • The ultimate aim of the role is to increase the number of New Zealand clients that the organisation serves.
  • This will be achieved by understanding the products and services offered, the size of the relevant addressable market and successfully building and converting a pipeline of prospects.
  • The BDM will be supported by other members of the relationship and operations team, but will be the person primarily responsible for identifying and generating new leads and working to convert these leads into clients.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstratable understanding of the New Zealand financial services sector and accounting principles.
  • A proven track record of sales and of relationship management skills.
  • Independent, self-directing and delivery-focused – you have the ability to work effectively within a team to meet targets.
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills, with superior attention to detail.
  • Good computer literacy, including the ability to quickly learn new software platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
