Our client is a national organisation, playing an integral part in improving the educational abilities of New Zealanders.  Your role in this team will be critical to ensuring the vital service is sustainable.  Please note this role is 24 hours per week.

The CFO will lead a team of two direct reports and an overall team of five. Key attributes will be the communication skills to ensure the Board and SLT are clear on potential risks, and the background behind decisions.  A focus on overall accuracy and efficacy of reporting will also provide valuable insight to inform future decisions. The role will require the successful candidate to have a continuous improvement mentality, particularly around automation and/or process controls.
Each programme will need to be analysed and reported against, with feedback to the SLT on areas of fiscal improvement including forecasting of programmes to assist with strategic decision making. Working closely with the Board and CEO, you will forge and execute a strategy that builds a sustainable future.
The team have a good level of capability but require an authentic leader who is willing to put energy into system improvement and to bring innovation in their thoughts and approach to help the team take a step up in terms of accountability and ownership.

Knowledge of Xero would be beneficial, as will experience implementing payroll systems.  With a strong and visible commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the successful candidate will excited about operating in accordance with Tino Rangatiratanga and being guided by Manaaki Tangata.
