We are seeking a strong Employee Relations (ER) Specialist to join our client’s dynamic and collaborative team. Reporting to the Employment Relations Lead, this role involves offering expert guidance and support to the generalist HR team and collaborating with team managers to provide ER advice to minimise risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and support on varying ER cases to generalist HRBPs and consultants.
  • Manage complex cases, including mediation and Employment Relations Authority (ERA) cases.
  • Educate and build the capabilities of leaders to identify and manage lower-level ER issues.
  • Build strong relationships internally and externally to promote best practice ER.

Our ideal candidate:

  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working across a variety of Employee Relations cases.
  • Mediation and ERA experience is highly desirable.
  • A background in legal employment practice would also be considered.
  • A proven ability to provide practical guidance to the HR team and wider stakeholders at all levels.
  • An understanding of Industrial Relations (IR) is beneficial, and government experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences.
  • Confident ER practitioner with the ability to manage complex tasks and operate in ambiguous environments when required.
