Employment Relations Lead

The role
Our client is looking for an Employment Relations Lead to join their organisation on a 12-month fixed term basis. The Employment Relations Lead will provide strategic thinking and leadership in the design, development and delivery of the organisation’s employment relations strategies. It will be important to ensure that strategies set are aligned to the operating model and overall organisation strategic outcomes. This person will facilitate employment relations projects in order to support a positive employment culture and will provide expert and timely advice on employee relations matters.
This role will lead a Senior ER Advisor and will provide day to day support and development of this person.

The Employment Relations Lead will have leadership and oversight of collective bargaining and individual negotiations. It will be key to maintain and build positive relationships with union partners. 

About you
We are seeking candidates with a depth of demonstrated employment relations experience at a senior level. Alongside this you will offer:
  • Knowledge and experience of people related strategic planning and implementation
  • An understanding of the implications of employment law and the Public Service operating environment
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in employment law
  • The ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with unions and management to negotiate sound outcomes successfully
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and managing large scale programmes of work
  • The ability to model the concept of good faith and high-performance high engagement in employment relationships with colleagues, staff and union representatives
