We are seeking an experienced Employment Relations Lead to join a dynamic team in Auckland CBD. This role is crucial in leading and governing all aspects of employment relations, enabling the successful delivery of our people and performance strategy. As the in-house subject matter expert on employment law, you will play a key role in shaping union relationships, ensuring legal compliance, and managing employment-related risks.

• Lead the Employment Relations function
• Empower and build leadership capability through coaching, helping leaders with confidently manage workplace relations matters.
• Guide leaders in interpreting contractual provisions, employment policies, and legislation to inform strategic decisions.
• Lead negotiations with unions, including the renewal of Collective Employment Agreements.
• Confidently represent the organisation at the ERA when required and manage mediation procedures.
• Manage one direct report and work closely with the Generalist HR team.

Who you will be:

You will bring strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders, alongside a deep understanding of the public and private ER environments.  You will have extensive experience in managing complex ER cases and a deep understanding of employment relations legislation.  Union experience, is crucial, as is the ability to influence in complex and diverse environments.
