Financial/Management Accountant

They are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial/Management Accountant to join the team and contribute to the continued success of the insurance division.

About the role:

As a Financial/Management Accountant, you will play a critical role in the finance team, with responsibilities evenly split between financial and management accounting. This hybrid role requires a professional who can adeptly handle the demands of both fields, ensuring compliance with insurance and financial regulations while providing insightful analysis and strategic guidance to the management team.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of financial and management accounts
  • Preparation of budgets
  • Preparation of Board pack and monthly reports preparation
  • Preparation of various regulatory filing and reporting
  • Statutory account preparation
  • Review financial statements for IFRS compliance.
  • Presenting your findings, insights and recommendations to management
  • Variance analysis for P&L and Balance Sheet accounts
  • Liaise with Auditors and other external parties as required.
  • Backup for other finance team members
  • Reviewing financial data to identify and make informed recommendations about trends, variations, and opportunities.
  • Assist/Preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
  • Developing accurate cost and financial forecasting models and cost allocation methodologies as well as economic analysis models for new business

About you:

  • Finance and Insurance experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with statutory and regulatory accounting within a banking/insurance environment.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in Finance roles.
  • Tertiary qualified.
  • In-depth experience with building templates, and financial forecasting models for different organisational scenarios and applying best practice techniques including costing summaries
  • Power BI working experience (advantageous)
  • Membership to CA or equivalent (advantageous)
