At NZGCP you will be part of something bigger. We are Aotearoa’s government backed funding for early-stage business growth and we’re here to support Kiwi entrepreneurs and bold companies to innovate or grow into world-class. It takes a village to raise a child – and we believe it’s the same in business. That’s why we partner with other investors with aspirations of achieving great things to give Kiwi innovators the leg up they need to succeed.

From the investments we make to the people who have chosen to join our world class team, our business is grounded in three cornerstone beliefs: Delivering diversity, Doing things right, Achieving greatness through collaboration.

Our two investment vehicles are designed to stimulate private investment through fund of funds and co-investment models. Our market development mandate means we seek to partner and collaborate with a wide range of Government bodies and private investors to help develop the early-stage New Zealand investment market and ultimately help early-stage New Zealand companies grow. Some of the exciting brands we’ve invested in include Kami, Parkable, Tradify, AskNicely, LawVu, Rockitt and Sunfed.

This is an exciting role that will support the Finance and Investment team by preparing reports based on existing and new data. These reports and data analytics will enable the business to make plan strategically and to help support the investment team manage their portfolios, improve understanding and decision-making, made throughout the fund stages. You will also be required to create reports for government and investors on financial and non-financial performance measures. So having strong written communication skill and the ability to translate the data into reports is crucial in this role. You will also assist with the improvement and automation of a newly implemented system as well as be responsible for improving investment related processes and CRM functions. Experience working with systems and Power BI would be ideal.

This role also requires accounting, risk, process, and systems knowledge as you will work closely with the Investment Directors and teams to provide compliance and governance oversight. This will include providing guidance on the investment valuations, determining the valuation policy and procedures for the investment team to perform, then taking ownership of the relationship with the auditors for the results. This role requires a high level of autonomy and self-direction as you are expected to lead various projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your existing skills to a role that is versatile and is an integral part of the business. Your contribution will enable the business to make good decisions. So, if you’re keen to make a difference in New Zealand and the future of Kiwi innovators, while building your career, then you’re looking in the right place.
