We have an exciting opportunity for you to join an organisation that is dedicated to the revitalisation of Te Reo Māori not only in kāinga, hapori and iwi, but by also engaging the Crown, as its partner in revitalising the language Kia Reo Mauri Ora.

Kia Ūkaipō anō te Reo Māori: Māori is restored as a nurturing first language.

This is the vision of the Māori language strategy, the Maihi Māori, developed by Māori for kāinga, hapori and iwi.  Early in 2017, Te Mātāwai met with all stakeholders nationwide to gather feedback on Māori language initiatives in homes and communities, their aspirations for Te Reo Māori and the role of Te Mātāwai in realising these aspirations. This feedback informed the development of the Maihi Māori 2017-2040 Strategy. Experience and refinements have contributed towards the Te Mātāwai Statement of Intent 2021-2024.
