Accounts Payable & Reconciliations Officer (10-Month Temp – Public Sector)

Location: Wellington CBD (near train)
Type: Temp or Fixed Term (10 months)
Hourly Rate: $38 – $45 per hour (depending on experience)

Join a well-respected public sector organisation in this 10-month temporary role supporting their busy finance team. We’re seeking a capable and experienced Accounts Payable & Reconciliations Officer who can hit the ground running — particularly with high-volume bank reconciliations and complex payables processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-end processing of supplier invoices
• Managing payment runs and supplier queries
• Performing regular and accurate bank account reconciliations
• Reconciling creditor, control, and general ledger accounts
• Investigating variances and resolving issues promptly
• Supporting reporting and month-end processes as required

What You’ll Bring:

• Strong background in accounts payable and bank reconciliations
• Experience in a large, high-volume or complex environment (public sector experience ideal)
• Good knowledge of accounting systems and intermediate Excel skills
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work to deadlines
• Availability for a 10-month assignment starting soon
