Senior Injury Management Advisor

About the Role This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive and experienced team. You’ll join a small, dedicated group comprising both injury management and general wellbeing specialists, based in multiple locations throughout New Zealand.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving continuous improvement and ensuring the organisation meets the Accredited Employer Programme Assessment Requirements. You’ll also play an active role in the day-to-day work of the injury management function, including making cover decisions, managing cases, and supporting employees’ safe and sustainable return to work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives to enhance the organisation’s performance under the Accredited Employer Programme.
  • Manage complex injury claims, with a focus on mental injury cases.
  • Provide expert guidance on ACC legislation, processes, and best practice in injury management.
  • Coordinate return-to-work and rehabilitation plans in line with ACC guidelines.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure best outcomes for staff and the business.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, learning-oriented team culture.

What You Will Bring

  • Minimum five years’ experience in injury or claims management.
  • Strong understanding of ACC legislation, principles, and injury management practices.
  • Demonstrated experience managing mental injury claims.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and interpersonal.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confidence in explaining complex information to a range of audiences.
  • Awareness and respect for cross-cultural practices, including tikanga Māori and Pacific peoples’ cultures.
