H2R Consulting Ltd are excited to be exclusively recruiting the position of Wealth Adviser for a Wellington based  organisation who look after the needs of a group of high net-worth clients. This position rarely comes along and requires someone with the right personality, skills, experience, and qualifications.

Through your highly developed relationship skills you will become a trusted adviser delivering our service offering tailored to the individual needs of your clients. You will be committed to excellence in client service and have the qualities, competencies and knowledge to deliver professional advice.

Strong communication skills will ensure that advice is clearly communicated and understood across a wide range of client ages and levels of experience.
Sound knowledge in investment advice and/or trust and estate planning is essential along with  working knowledge of tax and insurance matters.


  • A minimum of 10 years (preferred) of experience in the financial services or wealth management sector in a senior financial advisory role
  • Experience as a relationship manager or key account manager specifically for high-net-worth individuals
  • Knowledge of trusts and trust administration experience preferably with a professional trustee services company  


  • Minimum Level 5 New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification in financial planning, accounting, finance, or law
  • Financial Adviser accreditation
  • CFP or STEP qualification desirable 

Technical Experience

  • Detailed planning and organisation with demonstrated ability to:
    • Set achievable objectives by identifying the critical steps and timeline necessary to achieve the desired result for clients
    • Monitor progress against objectives and take remedial action as necessary
    • Utilise available resources (internal and external advisors) to achieve objectives
    • Effectively manage multiple concurrent projects for different clients
    • General expertise in wealth management, being able to provide advice on investments, ownership structures, estate planning, taxation and insurance

As a senior member of the team, a Wealth Adviser is expected to demonstrate strong leadership across the office. Drawing on the wider Wellington based team for the delivery of service and advice the Wealth Adviser will work with  staff specialists in, compliance, accounting and taxation, communications, trust and estate law and investment management. You will be part of a team of four Wealth Advisers.

This position may suit someone who is performing well in a Private Bank, a Trustee Company, a law firm specialising in Private Client work or within Business Advisory of an accountancy practice and is ready for something more diverse and an opportunity to broaden their skill base.  For the right person we welcome the opportunity to help you develop professionally through mentoring and additional qualifications.
