We’re looking for an experienced Procurement Lead to step into an interim role supporting a busy development environment.

This is a hands-on position where you’ll work closely with project, development and consultancy teams, helping keep procurement activity moving while ensuring everything aligns with government rules and delegated authority.

You’ll report into a supportive leader and work alongside the wider team. They’re looking for someone who’s confident operating independently, builds trust quickly and can keep a variety of stakeholders on track in a space that often involves grey areas and shifting priorities.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Overseeing day-to-day procurement delivery across development projects
  • Working closely with the development team on contracts, builders and consultancy work
  • Ensuring compliance with government procurement rules and delegated authority
  • Documenting processes clearly and maintaining good governance
  • Managing bill processes and understanding the end-to-end procurement flow
  • Keeping projects moving and holding stakeholders accountable
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and raising them when appropriate
  • Navigating a largely manual procurement environment (no dedicated system yet)

About you:

  • Strong public-sector procurement experience
  • A solid understanding of government procurement rules and compliance
  • Confidence managing bill processes and supporting development-type projects
  • The ability to operate autonomously and make sound judgements
  • Experience working with consultants, contractors and property-related teams
  • A calm, practical approach when things aren’t black and white
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to influence

There are no direct reports in this role, and you’ll be supported by a team that values collaboration and transparency. While the focus is delivery, you’ll be encouraged to highlight improvements where you see them.

If you enjoy making things happen, can navigate complexity and want a role where your experience is genuinely needed, this is a great opportunity to add real value over the next few months.
