About Us

Our Background and Ownership

H2R was established in 2004 by Eugene Ng and Jane Walker.  We wanted a business that was 100% locally owned with 100% of profits going back into the local economy.  We wanted a business that was simple and easy to navigate with a flat structure and none of the politics and bureaucracy of the global companies we used to work in.

Today, we have over 50 staff with offices in Auckland and Wellington.  Eugene Ng and Jane Walker are still our Directors alongside Tina Ng who was appointed as a Director in 2021.

Our Points of Difference

  • Service vs Sales focus
Unlike many of our competitors, our business is focused on the provision of outstanding customer service both for clients and candidates. Whilst business development and relationship management is very important, our consultants KPI’s are aligned to quality of service and repeat business.
  • Low Turnover
We have one of the lowest rates of turnover in the recruitment industry.  Many of our team have been with H2R for over 10-15 years.  This includes recruiters, managers and support staff, some who have been with H2R for over 18 years.  For our clients and candidates this means everything.  We know your history.  You can play the “do you know who I am” card and yes we will know who you are!  Our long term relationships have blurred into trusted friendships.
  • One Stop Shop
We provide the full scope of recruitment services from temps through to senior executive recruitment. We also have a strong team of ten Career/Change and Psych Assessment specialists who provide psychometric assessment and Career/Change support services on a nationwide basis.

Our Values

  • Kōrero pono  Honesty Truth
  • Sustainable Business
  • He tāngata  Our People
  • RCSA Code of Ethics

We value honesty and transparency in all our dealings.  It’s much easier to do business that way.

We want our business to be sustainable not just from an environmental perspective but also from a relationship perspective.  Our pricing is aligned to value for money so we achieve long term repeat business and a reputation for delivery and quality of service.

We look after our staff as we want them to achieve long term goals both in their careers and personal lives.  Many have been with us for over 10 years (some since our establishment in 2004).  Low turnover means we will always be here for you when you need us.

We are also corporate members of the Recruitment Consultants Association and adhere to their strict code of ethics.
