Our client is a diverse, fast‑moving organisation investing in their People & Culture function and is looking for a confident HRBP to join a high-performing, well-established team.

The role

You’ll support a portfolio of approximately 600 employees across New Zealand, working closely with and mentoring an HR Coordinator who is keen to learn and grow. This is a broad, operational HRBP role with plenty of variety, where no two days look the same. You’ll be actively involved in:

  • Developing and mentoring the HR Coordinator, reviewing work and building their capability as an HR professional.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for managers, providing practical HR advice and partnering with them to resolve issues and achieve strong people outcomes.
  • Managing day-to-day employee relations matters with confidence, including exposure to unionised environments.
  • Supporting and contributing to key projects across payroll, acquisitions, and the implementation of new learning systems and tools.
  • Reviewing and updating policies and procedures to ensure they remain compliant, fit for purpose, and aligned with business strategy.
  • Playing a key role in strengthening HR’s credibility and embedding a trusted, people-focused operating model across the organisation.

Who you will be You’re a confident, resilient HR generalist with solid experience across the full HR remit. You’re practical, not precious, and comfortable rolling up your sleeves and working across all levels of the business. You’re genuinely passionate about developing people and will enjoy mentoring and coaching a direct-report. You have strong attention to detail, stay up to date with legislative changes, and can confidently update policies and processes accordingly. You’re a natural relationship builder who partners effectively with managers, understands their challenges, and helps them achieve their goals.
