We are seeking an industry‑recognised Commercial Specialist to play a pivotal role in the planning and delivery of a nationally significant capital infrastructure project. This is a rare opportunity for a top‑of‑class commercial leader to shape outcomes on a project that is deliberately positioned to set new benchmarks for client, market, and industry performance.

This role spans the full development lifecycle, from early design development through to ready‑for‑construction, and requires someone who is confident operating at pace in a highly complex, multi‑stakeholder environment. You will bring exceptional commercial judgement, a disciplined and structured approach, and a practical, delivery‑focused mindset grounded in global best practice.

The Role

You will be a trusted advisor to the project’s senior leadership and governance, and a key contributor to the commercial architecture that underpins successful delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Shaping and leading the project’s best practice approach to commercial strategy, with a hands‑on delivery style.
  • Providing authoritative commercial advice to support robust Board‑level and senior executive decision‑making.
  • Supporting and influencing the development of procurement and contract documentation, with active challenge to ensure alignment with project objectives and delivery outcomes.
  • Actively maintaining strong commercial oversight across multiple, concurrent workstreams.
  • Embedding top‑of-class risk management and value‑for‑money practices throughout the project lifecycle.

About You

You will be recognised by your peers for the quality of your strategic and commercial thinking, and for your ability to translate complex commercial issues into clear, actionable advice. You will be able to demonstrate proven, industry‑leading capability in:

  • Strategic documentation and implementation planning
  • Cost estimating and cost management.
  • Risk management and quantitative risk analysis.
  • Programme and schedule development.
  • Forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Governance reporting and high‑quality project documentation.

Working collaboratively as part of an integrated project team, you will play a key role in driving innovative, high‑performance commercial outcomes and helping deliver infrastructure that is widely regarded as best‑in‑class.
