Senior Business Analyst – HRIS
1–2 days per week in office | Waikato
17–18 month opportunity | Starting March 2026
 
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with strong experience in HR and Workday HRIS implementations to play a pivotal role in a Workday HR deployment across our client’s organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, ensuring HR processes and data are aligned with the organisational needs.


You will be responsible for gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements for the HR workstream, validating these with internal stakeholders and SMEs, and ensuring that the Workday HR solution meets the business needs of the organisation.
  
Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyse HR business requirements and document them in alignment with Workday’s best practices
  • Validate requirements with internal stakeholders and functional leads
  • Document and map current and future state HR business processes, identifying pain points and areas for improvement
  • Support data cleansing and migration, working with SMEs to ensure data accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate with SI functional leads to ensure the Workday HR solution is aligned with business requirements
  • Support HRIS testing activities, including defining test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and defect tracking
  • Contribute to change readiness, supporting training and communication efforts

Essential Experience:

  • 5–10 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in HRIS or ERP implementations (Workday experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of HR business processes, particularly Workday HR
  • Experience in data cleansing, data migration, and HR process mapping
  • Proven ability to collaborate with functional leads, vendors, and cross-functional teams
  • Experience in testing and change management for HRIS systems
