We are looking for a Risk Business Partner to join a collaborative, high-performing risk team that sits at the heart of the business. This isn’t your typical risk role, it is about working alongside operational teams, building trust, and helping them navigate complex, high-stakes decisions with confidence.

About the role
As a Risk Business Partner, you’ll act as the bridge between enterprise risk and day-to-day operations. While the wider team focuses on frameworks, policies, and board-level risk, your role is to embed yourself within operational teams, understanding their challenges, supporting their decision-making, and helping bring clarity to complex situations.

What you will be doing

• Partner closely with operational teams, becoming a trusted advocate on risk and decision-making
• Facilitate risk discussions, workshops, and assessments to support real-time challenges
• Bring the right people together to solve problems and drive outcomes
• Translate high-level risk frameworks into practical, usable approaches for the frontline
• Support teams through urgent and high-pressure situations, providing calm and clarity
• Challenge constructively — asking the right questions and pushing for better outcomes

What we are looking for
You don’t need to come from a traditional risk background; we are more interested in how you work with people.
You will bring:

• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence at all levels
• High emotional intelligence, with the ability to read the room, adapt your approach, and build trust quickly
• Confidence to challenge and push back, while maintaining strong partnerships
• A calm, solutions-focused mindset in complex or high-pressure environments
• Clear, practical communication skills
• Strong organisation and analytical capability (you’re comfortable working with data and spreadsheets)
• Experience working in engineering, infrastructure, or asset management environments
