We are currently seeking two Data Engineers to join a large, enterprise-scale public sector organisation based in Wellington. These are hybrid roles, offering flexibility while playing a key part in enabling data-driven decision making across the business.

You’ll be responsible for designing, building, and optimising data solutions that ensure high-quality, accessible, and reliable data for reporting and strategic insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement data performance measures to support strategic decision making
• Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, quality, and usability of data and information
• Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
• Contribute to the development of reporting and analytics capabilities, ensuring outputs are clear, accurate, and actionable
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and data products

Skills & Experience

• Experience with PROC SQL and SAS
• Strong capability in building ETL/ELT pipelines and data engineering solutions
• Scripting experience with PowerShell and/or Bash
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and R (including R Shiny)
• Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is advantageous
• At least 2+ years’ experience in a Data Engineering or similar role
