This is a unique chance for a strong and detailed HR Operations manager to establish robust systems, embed best-practice processes, and lead a high-performing HR operations function.

The opportunity
This is a key role where you’ll take ownership of the HR transactional services function, ensuring the seamless delivery of HR processes, systems, and policies. You’ll coach and guide a team and drive operational excellence through well-designed, fit-for-purpose frameworks. You’ll play a key role in strengthening HR infrastructure focusing on HRIS and data integrity through to policy/procedure governance and service delivery enabling the wider business to operate effectively and confidently.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop two HR Coordinators and an HRIS Specialist, building capability, consistency, and a strong service mindset
  • Own and continuously improve end-to-end HR service delivery, including contracts, onboarding/offboarding, employee lifecycle processes, and payroll inputs
  • Drive the optimisation and integration of HR systems (HRIS), ensuring data accuracy, reporting capability, and user adoption
  • Establish, review, and maintain HR policies and frameworks, ensuring alignment with New Zealand employment legislation and organisational needs

About you
You are an experienced HR professional with a background in HR operations, shared services, or HR services within large, complex, fast-paced organisations, ready for the next step. You bring a strong systems and process mindset, with proven ability to design, own, and optimise HR frameworks, HRIS, and service delivery models. As a confident people leader, you enjoy developing teams and building a strong, customer-focused culture. Comfortable working in detail, you understand how to evolve HR services for greater impact and also bring a solid understanding of New Zealand employment legislation and how it applies in everyday policies and documentation. You are also a strong stakeholder manager, able to influence, build trust, and partner effectively across all levels.
