Join an enterprise public sector organisation as a Senior SAP ABAP Developer. This is a critical role focused on the development, support, and strategic enhancement of a diverse SAP landscape that keeps essential services running.

You will be the technical lead for complex end-to-end solutions, bridging the gap between business requirements and technical execution. Your primary mission is to ensure our integrated systems including Kronos and SuccessFactors communicate flawlessly while maintaining the integrity of the core Payroll and HCM environments.
Key Responsibilities

  • Integration Excellence: Design, implement, and troubleshoot complex integrations via SAP PI, managing data flows to Kronos, SuccessFactors, and other downstream systems.
  • Impact Analysis: Proactively identify how system changes or customisations will impact the broader environment to ensure stability.
  • Level 3 Support: Act as the final point of escalation for complex technical issues across HCM, Payroll, and Finance modules.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Lead technical discussions with business stakeholders and vendors to translate strategic objectives into high-quality code.
  • Modernisation: Contribute to the design and support of our roadmap toward S/4HANA and BW/HANA.

What You Bring

  • Deep ABAP Expertise: Extensive experience in ABAP development, specifically with Object-Oriented (OO) methodologies.
  • Integration Mastery: Proven experience with SAP PI and a strong understanding of how to connect SAP with external third-party applications.
  • Functional Knowledge: Strong technical understanding of SAP HCM (Payroll, ESS/MSS, PA/OM) and/or Finance/SRM modules.
  • System Design: A proven ability to design end-to-end solutions within a complex, large-scale enterprise environment.
  • The Right Mindset: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across both SAFe and Waterfall project environments.

This is an initial one-year fixed term opportunity with a strong likelihood of an extension offering very generous hybrid working (a few days in the office a fortnight), a competitive salary, and an opportunity to make a real impact.
