We’re seeking a Principal Financial Accountant to join a high-performing finance team based in Wellington CBD. Working within a close-knit team of five, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, providing technical guidance, and helping maintain strong financial management practices across the organisation.

Reporting to an experienced and highly regarded manager who provides cohesive leadership, you’ll enjoy being part of a collaborative and capable team environment.

This is a senior technical role with no direct reports. However, you’ll naturally provide guidance, coaching and support to others, helping build capability and ensuring high standards across the finance function.

Key Requirements

• Strong Central Government accounting experience
• Proven Treasury reporting experience
• Advanced financial reporting and technical accounting capability
• Ability to guide and mentor others without formal people leadership responsibility
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
