At Mt Cook Alpine Salmon, we are proud to be the only company in the world exporting premium freshwater king salmon, raised in the pristine glacial waters of New Zealand’s South Island. With growing international demand and exciting business initiatives underway, we’re looking for an experienced Project Coordinator to join our innovation team and help deliver projects that support the future growth of our business.

Working alongside our Innovation Manager, you will play a key role in driving a diverse portfolio of projects across product development, processing improvements, operational initiatives, compliance activities, and future growth opportunities.

About the role
Acting as the link between teams across the business, you will ensure projects stay on track, stakeholders remain engaged, and critical milestones are achieved.

Your work will include:

  • Coordinating multiple innovation and growth projects from planning through to delivery
  • Developing and maintaining project plans, timelines, reporting and action registers
  • Supporting new product development and operational improvement initiatives
  • Coordinating project approvals, implementation activities and stakeholder communications
  • Managing project documentation, reporting and funding administration
  • Assisting with production and product trials, including data collection and analysis
  • Working closely with teams across operations, marketing, finance, aquaculture and processing

This role offers exposure to projects that have genuine influence on the future direction of the business, from product innovation through to large-scale operational and growth initiatives.

About you
We’re looking for someone who is naturally organised, proactive and comfortable working across multiple priorities.

You will bring:

  • Previous project coordination or project management experience in a non-IT environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to follow up and keep projects moving
  • Excellent organisational, planning and communication abilities
  • Strong Excel, reporting and data analysis capability
  • The ability to manage detail while keeping sight of broader project objectives
  • A collaborative and resilient approach

Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, primary industries or regulated environments would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
Based at our Christchurch smokehouse facility near the airport, this is a site-based role where collaboration and relationship-building are an important part of success.

If you’re an experienced project professional who enjoys bringing structure, momentum and delivery focus to complex projects, we’d love to hear from you.
