About TRC and THA
Tāmaki Regeneration Company (TRC) and Tāmaki Housing Association (THA) work together to support thriving and connected communities across Glen Innes, Panmure and Point England. TRC leads one of Aotearoa’s largest urban regeneration programmes, while THA provides housing and tenancy services that help tenants and whānau feel secure and well supported in their homes.
Together, they work alongside Mana Whenua, Iwi, Pasifika communities, whānau and local partners to create quality housing, strengthen wellbeing and foster a lasting sense of identity and belonging in Tāmaki.
TRC and THA are people-centred, values-led organisations grounded in:

  • Ka Poipoi — caring for and nurturing one another
  • Ka Honohono Tātou — joining and coming together
  • Ka Waihanga Tahi Tātou — reflecting, learning, designing and creating together

The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly structured Business Support team and help shape how it operates from the outset. As the team’s Senior Business Support Advisor, you will take ownership of important governance, executive and organisation-wide activity, enabling leaders and teams across TRC and THA to deliver effectively.

Reporting to the Business Support Manager, you will work closely with the Chief Advisor to the Chief Executive, senior leaders and colleagues across both organisations. This is much more than a traditional administration role. You will be trusted to anticipate what is needed, confidently take ownership of complex and time-critical work, and ensure important commitments are delivered to a consistently high standard.

Your will also:

  • Provide proactive coordination and administrative support to the Chief Advisor to the Chief Executive.
  • Coordinate governance and management forums, including meeting papers, minutes, actions and publication through Diligent.
  • Organise meetings, travel, venues, technology, catering and hosting requirements.
  • Coordinate organisation-wide events and activities, including Pulse hui, mihi whakatau, celebrations and stakeholder/ministerial visits.
  • Support the coordination of complaints and queries, ensuring actions are tracked, completed or escalated appropriately.
  • Coordinating training and development activities across TRC and THA.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes across the wider Business Support function.

The environment is busy and varied, with some systems and processes still being established. You will have genuine scope to bring your ideas, improve how work gets done and make this role your own.

Who You Will Be
You will be highly organised, capable and proactive, with the initiative to anticipate what is needed, solve problems and keep work moving without close direction. You take ownership and maintain high standards, whether coordinating executive meetings, preparing Board papers and reports, arranging logistics or following up actions with senior contributors.
You may come from a business support, executive support, administration, governance, project coordination or customer-focused environment. More important than a particular job title will be your sound judgement, attention to detail and professional communication. Warm and dependable, you will handle sensitive information with discretion, build trusted relationships and take genuine pride in helping others succeed.

Why TRC and THA
This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a visible and trusted role, help establish a new team and contribute to meaningful kaupapa that directly benefits whānau and communities.

Benefits include:

  • A supportive, inclusive and culturally diverse workplace
  • The opportunity to contribute to generational community impact
  • Five weeks’ annual leave, additional parental leave, wellbeing benefits and medical insurance
