We’re seeking an experienced Programme Delivery Manager to join a large public sector organisation delivering a complex programme of work with a fixed implementation deadline. Working across multiple technology platforms, delivery teams, and vendor partners, you’ll play a central role in coordinating delivery, managing dependencies, and ensuring key milestones are achieved.

You’ll work closely with business and technology leaders to bring clarity to complexity, maintain momentum across multiple workstreams, and help ensure successful delivery against ambitious timeframes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end delivery leadership across multiple workstreams, delivery teams, and vendor partners.
• Develop, maintain, and actively manage integrated delivery plans, ensuring milestones, dependencies, critical paths, and release activities remain aligned.
• Coordinate delivery across business and technology teams to ensure programme outcomes are achieved within agreed timeframes.
• Identify, manage, and escalate risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, ensuring potential delivery impacts are addressed early.
• Drive programme delivery readiness, including planning, testing, security, operational readiness, and implementation activities.
• Work closely with business owners, product teams, architects, and delivery teams to remove roadblocks and maintain delivery momentum.
• Ensure requirements, design decisions, testing activities, and implementation plans remain aligned across multiple teams and vendors.
• Facilitate cross-team planning sessions, dependency reviews, delivery checkpoints, and release readiness activities.
• Monitor progress against key milestones and provide accurate forecasting, reporting, and delivery insights.
• Prepare and deliver status updates, options papers, recommendations, and escalation material for programme leadership and governance forums.
• Support decision-making processes by providing clear visibility of delivery progress, risks, issues, and key dependencies.
• Coordinate supplier and vendor activities, ensuring commitments are understood, tracked, and delivered against agreed timeframes.
• Contribute to business and operational readiness planning to support successful implementation and transition into business-as-usual operations.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience delivering complex digital or technology programmes within large organisations, ideally involving legislative or regulatory change.
• Experience working across multiple delivery teams, stakeholders, vendors, and technology platforms.
• Strong planning, dependency management, RAID management, and delivery governance capability.
• A track record of delivering outcomes in environments with fixed deadlines and significant business impact.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
• Experience presenting delivery status, risks, and recommendations to senior leaders and governance groups.
