Bring your practical, hands-on approach to a true HR generalist role in a well-established manufacturing business. Working across multiple sites and partnering closely with operational leaders, you’ll contribute across the full People & Culture remit, including employee relations, recruitment, manager support and people initiatives.

Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you’ll be part of a close-knit and collaborative team. This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the business, building trusted relationships and getting involved wherever they can make a difference.

What you will be doing

  • Provide timely, practical advice to managers and employees across the full range of people matters.
  • Manage employee relations cases, including performance, conduct, absence and disciplinary matters, and work constructively with union representatives.
  • Coach managers to build their confidence and capability in handling people issues.
  • Support recruitment across the business, partnering with managers through role scoping, selection and onboarding.
  • Contribute to performance and remuneration reviews, people planning, engagement and development initiatives.
  • Prepare employment documentation, people reporting and information for payroll, and help resolve issues as systems and processes evolve.
  • Identify opportunities to improve people processes and take part in wider People & Culture projects.

What you will bring

You’ll be an experienced HR generalist who is comfortable balancing day-to-day advice with complex employee relations work. You’ll bring sound judgement, a service mindset and the confidence to work with people at all levels of the business. Experience in manufacturing, a unionised workforce or another operational, blue-collar environment will be valuable. You’ll be practical and resilient, able to adapt to changing priorities, and comfortable working across sites. Just as important, you’ll communicate openly, handle sensitive matters with discretion and raise issues early.
