We are proud to be partnering with the Panmure Business Association to find their next Business Association Manager. This is a pivotal role focused on ensuring Panmure continues to thrive, working closely with local business owners and community stakeholders to deliver practical, visible outcomes that reflect business and community aspirations.

About the Role
The Panmure Business Association represents more than 380 local businesses and operates under Auckland Council’s Business Improvement District (BID) programme. Panmure is undergoing significant transformation, with major public and private investment reshaping the town centre and surrounding communities. This is a rare opportunity to play a central role in shaping the future of a growing, diverse and dynamic area.

As the Business Association Manager you will be the driving force behind PBA’s success. Reporting to the Executive Board, you will provide strategic leadership while overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the Association. You’ll act as a connector, bringing together businesses, stakeholders and community groups, and lead initiatives that strengthen the local economy and sense of place.
This is a hands‑on leadership role overseeing four direct reports and is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and driving meaningful local impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic direction and operational delivery of the PBA Business Plan
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with members, stakeholders, funders and partners
  • Act as the public face and spokesperson for the Panmure Business Association
  • Manage and support a small team, fostering a positive and high‑performing culture
  • Oversee budgets, funding, sponsorships and financial reporting
  • Deliver high‑value events, promotions and initiatives that support local businesses
  • Ensure compliance with Incorporated Societies requirements and Auckland Council BID obligations
  • Work closely with the Executive Board to support effective governance and long‑term planning

Who You Will Be
You’re a people‑first leader who enjoys rolling up your sleeves as much as shaping the bigger picture. You move easily between strategy and action, bringing good judgement and plenty of energy along the way. You’re comfortable working with volunteer boards, small teams and diverse communities, and you know how to balance competing priorities while keeping things moving in the right direction. Building genuine relationships comes naturally to you, whether you’re working alongside local business owners, community groups or council partners. With proven experience in budgeting and reporting, you develop well‑planned, creative initiatives that deliver real value for both local businesses and the wider community, strengthening the local economy through a collaborative and forward‑thinking approach. Most of all, you’re passionate about championing local businesses and helping create a vibrant, welcoming town centre.

Why Join PBA?

  • Make a visible, lasting impact on a transforming Auckland community
  • Lead a purpose‑driven organisation with strong local support
  • Enjoy autonomy, variety and meaningful stakeholder engagement
  • Work with a fun and committed Executive Board and passionate local businesses
  • This is a four day a week (0.8 FTE) position. Enjoy work life balance!

If you’re excited by the idea of leading a community‑focused organisation and shaping the future of Panmure, we’d love to hear from you!
