Build Connections. Strengthen Communities. Create Lasting Impact.

About TRC
The Tāmaki Regeneration Company (TRC) leads one of Aotearoa’s largest urban regeneration programmes, supporting thriving, connected and culturally grounded communities across Glen Innes, Panmure and Point England. Working alongside Mana Whenua, Iwi, Pasifika communities, whānau and local partners, TRC is committed to enabling long‑term wellbeing, home ownership, identity and belonging in Tāmaki.

TRC is a people‑centred, values‑driven organisation grounded in:
Ka Poipoi — caring for and nurturing one another
Ka Honohono Tātou — Joining and coming together
Ka Waihanga Tahi Tātou — reflecting, learning, designing and creating together

About the Role

This opportunity has come about due to an internal promotion and offers the chance to join a purpose-driven organisation at the heart of one of New Zealand’s most significant urban regeneration programmes. It’s a varied, hands-on role where you’ll bring together community engagement, stakeholder relationships, programme promotion, event coordination, and project support. You’ll be involved across a range of meaningful initiatives, including shared home ownership, financial literacy programmes, jobs and skills pathways, social housing, and community activations. You’ll work closely with a diverse network of stakeholders including Mana Whenua, iwi, Māori and Pasifika organisations, schools, churches, NGOs, local businesses, councils, and many others across the Tāmaki community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships across the Tāmaki community.
  • Coordinate and deliver community engagement activities, workshops, events and activations.
  • Promote TRC programmes and increase community awareness and participation through activations and engagement.
  • Gather community feedback, identify insights and ensure effective follow-up.
  • Represent TRC at stakeholder meetings, forums and community events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to respond to community needs and deliver positive outcomes.
  • Monitor engagement activities and contribute to programme objectives and KPIs.

About you

You’ll bring experience in community engagement, stakeholder management, communications, community development, or a similar space, along with the confidence to step into conversations that can sometimes be complex, taking a calm and solutions-focused approach. You’ll be proactive and thorough in your mahi and someone who follows through on what you say you will do. You’ll have a genuine understanding and respect for Māori and Pasifika communities, cultures, and the different ways engagement needs to happen across groups, and you’ll communicate in a way that is clear, grounded, and relatable. You’ll also  be someone who builds trust over time, listens well, and works alongside a wide range of people in a way that feels respectful and real. You are organised and able to keep multiple pieces of work moving at once, while staying steady under pressure. Just as importantly, you’ll bring emotional intelligence, resilience, and a down-to-earth approach that helps you stay effective in a role where relationships and trust really matter.
Why Join TRC?

  • Be part of an organisation making a tangible difference in the lives of Tāmaki whānau.
  • Enjoy excellent benefits including five weeks’ annual leave and a wellbeing allowance.
  • Join a collaborative team committed to creating thriving, connected communities.
