About the Opportunity

Due to an internal promotion, the Community Engagement Manager role has become available. In this role, you will lead the delivery of TRC’s community engagement strategy and grow the leads pipeline for affordable housing and financial literacy programmes. With strategy and frameworks already in place, your focus will be on execution, driving culturally grounded engagement and strengthening key relationships across Tāmaki communities. You will oversee two Community Engagement Advisors and bring proven experience delivering engagement plans and demonstrating their impact. A crucial part of the role is maintaining TRC’s social license in community spaces by building trust, enabling ongoing activations, and supporting TRC to operate confidently and collaboratively across the community.

Who You Will Be

We’re seeking a values‑aligned leader with strong cultural competency who can confidently engage with Māori and Pasifika communities. You’ll excel at turning strategy into action, ensuring delivery of meaningful engagement and outcomes. As a capable people leader, you’ll support and guide an energetic team to deliver high‑impact community activations. You will also bring strong stakeholder management skills across iwi, mana whenua, community, NGO, education, political and corporate groups. Experience developing and converting a leads pipeline ideally in housing or community programmes is important, along with the ability to produce clear, data‑driven reporting for senior audiences to demonstrate the impact and value of community engagement. Above all, you’ll be adaptable, resilient, and collaborative, thriving in a team that works collectively across shared priorities.

Why Join TRC?
At TRC, values guide every aspect of the work:

  • Ka Poipoi: Deep care for and nurturing of one another.
  • Ka Honohono Tātou: A commitment to joining together and building strong connections.
  • Ka Waihanga Tahi Tātou: A shared approach to reflecting, learning, designing, and creating together.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a community‑centred leadership role where you will see tangible impact from your mahi every day. You’ll be joining a purpose‑driven, culturally diverse team that embraces innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
