An opportunity has opened in the health sector for a highly capable Commercial Manager to work closely with the Group Financial Controller and senior finance leadership team.

This is a pivotal role that sits at the centre of the finance function, supporting strategic initiatives, coordinating key activities across the corporate finance office, and helping to drive improvements in how the function operates.

The organisation is currently undergoing significant change, and this role will play an important part in facilitating finance initiatives, strengthening coordination, and bringing structure and clarity to a fast-paced environment.

About the role:

Working directly with senior finance leadership, you will operate as a trusted advisor and facilitator across the finance function. The position will focus on coordinating priorities, supporting strategic programmes, and ensuring key initiatives are delivered effectively.

Key areas of focus will include:

  • Supporting the Group Financial Controller and senior finance leaders with strategic initiatives and operational coordination
  • Facilitating change programmes across the finance function to improve ways of working
  • Preparing and shaping high quality board papers, briefing documents and leadership reporting
  • Coordinating information and activity across multiple finance teams
  • Supporting governance processes including board and audit related reporting
  • Bringing structure, planning and organisation to a function that currently manages a high volume of reactive requests
  • Building strong working relationships across leadership teams and corporate services

This role requires someone comfortable operating in an environment where priorities can shift quickly and where strong judgement, organisation and communication are essential.

About you:

You will be a highly organised professional with strong commercial and financial understanding, and the ability to operate confidently alongside senior leaders.

You are someone who can bring clarity to complexity, communicate clearly, and turn work around quickly in a demanding environment.
Ideally you will bring:

  • Strong experience working in a corporate finance or commercial environment
  • Demonstrated experience preparing board papers and executive level documentation
  • Excellent written communication and business writing capability
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and facilitating discussions
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A proactive and solutions focused mindset
  • The ability to operate with discretion and navigate sensitive environments

Experience working in large, complex organisations or the public sector would be beneficial but is not essential.
