We are looking for a high-calibre Data Assurance & Analytics Lead to join a critical, large-scale Enterprise Resource Management (ERM) Programme. This is a “greenfields” environment where you will have the autonomy to shape the data landscape for a complex public sector organisation.

• 12 month hourly rate contract
• Wellington based
• Hybrid working 

The programme is currently in Phase 1 (HR, Payroll, and Workforce), with Finance and Procurement to follow. You will be the sole internal specialist in this space, acting as the bridge between business strategy and technical execution.

The Role This is not a “hands-on” technical coding role, but it requires deep domain knowledge to lead the design and implementation of data frameworks. You will work alongside top-tier advisors and system integrators to ensure the organisation moves toward a “single source of truth.”

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish the Framework: Design and embed the ERM Data Assurance and Ownership Framework from scratch.
• Strategic Leadership: Review roadmaps and set data standards to ensure high-quality data across the employee and finance lifecycle.
• Analytics & Insights: Define KPI catalogues and oversee the delivery of SAP-based dashboards and reporting.
• Build a Team: As the programme scales you will have the opportunity to recruit and manage a small, dedicated data team.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate workshops to explore business needs and build strong relationships across HR, Finance, and IT.

Essential Experience:

• Data Governance: Proven track record in developing data assurance and governance frameworks within complex business environments.
• ERP/SAP Ecosystems: Strong understanding of SAP environments, specifically regarding reporting and analytics platforms (SAP Business Data Cloud experience is a plus).
• Business Focus: Ability to translate technical data requirements into actionable business insights.
• Influence & Collaboration: Experience managing vendor relationships (System Integrators) and engaging with senior business stakeholders.
