Currently seeking an experienced Data Lead to play a key role in a large-scale, multi-year enterprise technology transformation within a complex, high-impact environment.

The Opportunity

You will lead the data workstream for a significant system migration, ensuring data integrity, continuity of critical reporting, and alignment with enterprise data strategy across phased delivery. This role suits a senior data leader with experience navigating complex system coexistence, large datasets, and high-stakes stakeholder settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and own the data workstream across a major platform transition, including planning and delivery oversight
• Define and execute enterprise-level data migration strategies from legacy to modern platforms
• Oversee integration with an existing enterprise data and analytics environment, maintaining reporting continuity
• Manage and mentor technical specialists, including data engineers
• Partner with data, analytics, and architecture teams to manage change impacts and dependencies
• Act as the escalation point for data-related risks, issues, and decisions
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to senior business and technical stakeholders

Essential Experience

• Proven experience leading complex, enterprise-scale data migrations
• Strong background in data engineering, data architecture, or enterprise analytics platforms
• Experience operating within large, multi-stakeholder transformation programmes
• Demonstrated capability managing reporting transitions between systems
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Highly Desirable

• Experience in regulated or public-sector environments
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and compliance frameworks
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and modern architectures
• Exposure to Agile or iterative delivery models

This is a 6-month contract on an hourly rate, with a strong likelihood of extension with applications reviewed in early January.
