We’re working with a well-established construction business delivering large-scale government projects across Auckland.

With a strong pipeline of work and continued growth, they’re looking to bring on a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to support operational leaders and drive financial performance across key public sector projects.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with project managers and senior stakeholders, providing insights that influence decision-making and support the successful delivery of complex, high-value programmes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with operational and project teams to provide financial insight and support
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across multiple government projects
  • Monitor project performance, margins, and cost control
  • Provide clear, actionable reporting to support decision-making
  • Support business cases, pricing, and contract reviews
  • Ensure financial processes align with government frameworks and compliance requirements
  • Identify risks and opportunities across the project portfolio

What we’re looking for:

  • CA/CPA qualified (or working towards)
  • Proven experience in a Finance Business Partner or commercial finance role
  • Background in construction, infrastructure, or project-based environments
  • Experience working on government or public sector projects is highly regarded
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence non-finance teams
  • Commercially astute, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets
