Financial Advisor – Community Housing 
Fixed Term – 10 months (until December initially) – there is potential for this to extend, however at present this is Fixed Term.
 
About the role:
 
This role is two part, you will provide high quality financial reporting and analysis to support in the assessment of both new applications for registration, as well as the ongoing financial monitoring of existing provider’s (who are already registered). The majority of the work is regular analysis and reporting on existing providers.

In more detail / further tasks:

  • Analysis of financial data and regulatory reporting (predominantly audited financial statements and budget forecasts) to assist the team in the evaluation of applications for registration, and annual monitoring of registered providers.
  • Engagement with housing providers and other stakeholders (e.g. insurers, lenders, development partners) to provide information on our role, and the registration and ongoing monitoring requirements for providers.
  • Reporting on the financial strength of the registered provider sector, and sector trends
  • Ad-hoc analysis and reporting to assist Regulatory Advisors and teams across the organisation respond to breaches of the performance standards by individual registered provider.
  • Developing new financial assessment and reporting policies and procedures, as required, to support an evolving regulatory system

About you 

You’ll be looking at each provider (organisation) with a holistic view to see and effectively communicate the story behind the data and information.
 
The types of experience you’ll bring to the role: 
 
You may come from an Accounting background, however this is not mandatory at all. It is a requirement to have a strong understanding and way with numbers / Excel etc. We are after someone who both understands the numbers, and also the look and feel of a successful business. 

  • Sound understanding of key accounting principles and business risk indicators
  • Experience in developing and providing reporting using data analytics 
  • An ability to understand applicants’ financial strength and overall viability as a business
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Solutions driven approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Capable of mentoring junior members of the team as needed
  • Be a strong team player with the ability to coordinate and collaborate at team level
  • Resilience to working in a continuously evolving environment and role
  • Known for your integrity and taking responsibility for your actions
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement.

The remuneration and benefits:

Pay: $89,000 – $109,000 + Kiwisaver
Benefits: WFH 2 days per week
