Our client is looking for an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to support one of their largest and most complex, key sites.  This is a strategic partnering opportunity in a fast-paced operational environment, where you’ll work closely with site leaders to bring the people strategy to life and influence outcomes across culture, capability, performance, workforce planning and change.

About the role Reporting to the Senior P&C Business Partner based at another site, you’ll partner with the site leadership team to support business priorities and embed a positive culture reset already underway. You’ll move confidently between strategic and day to day work , connecting wider business initiatives into the site, supporting leaders through complexity, and designing practical people solutions that improve engagement, capability and performance.

What you’ll be doing

  • Partnering closely with senior site leaders to deliver people plans aligned to business priorities.
  • Leading and supporting strategic workforce planning across a large, complex operational workforce.
  • Coaching, challenging and supporting leaders to lift leadership capability and engagement.
  • Supporting people change initiatives and helping leaders navigate ambiguity and challenging situations.
  • Bringing commercial thinking to people decisions, balancing business needs with practical, people-focused outcomes.
  • Contributing to wider business initiatives and shaping how they land locally at site level.

About you
You’ll be an experienced HR Business Partner with experience ideally gained in a complex manufacturing, FMCG or similarly operational environment. Experience in a unionised environment would be advantageous, but what matters most is your ability to think strategically, influence senior leaders and deliver pragmatic outcomes in a fast-moving setting.

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to connect people plans to business priorities.
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership teams.
  • Confidence leading or supporting people change initiatives.
  • Experience with strategic workforce planning.
  • Strong coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to navigate complex or ambiguous situations.
  • A practical, collaborative and outcome-focused approach.

This is a site-based role supporting a key site, with an on-site commitment of three days per week. Applications are welcomed from candidates based in the wider Canterbury region who are comfortable with regular travel to site.
