We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional HR Operations Manager to step into a greenfields role where you can build, shape, and elevate how HR operates across a large, complex organisation. The opportunity
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role where you’ll own and evolve the HR operations engine end-to-end. You’ll lead a small team, partner closely with senior leaders, and build fit-for-purpose processes that enable the wider business to perform at its best. You’ll have the autonomy to make things better and the backing to do it properly.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small HR operations team, lifting capability and confidence
  • Own and improve core HR processes including contracts, policies, onboarding/offboarding, payroll inputs, and cyclical activities
  • Act as the go-to SME for HR operations, ensuring consistent, compliant, high-quality delivery
  • Enhance HR systems and data integrity, working closely with Payroll, HRIS, and HR Business Partners to maximise value and drive better decision-making
  • Lead the review and simplification of policies and procedures to ensure they are practical, and fully aligned with evolving legislation
  • Build trust in HR by ensuring leaders receive timely, accurate, and reliable support

About you

You’re an experienced HR operations professional who thrives on building and improving HR functions. You combine strong attention to detail with a solutions-focused mindset and are confident operating in evolving environments. You take pride in delivering high-quality HR operations, ensuring systems, processes, and teams are accurate, efficient, and fit for purpose. You bring strong experience across HR operations, systems and proven leadership capability in developing and guiding HR coordinators or specialists. You have solid knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and are confident partnering with senior stakeholders to influence outcomes. Above all, you’re passionate about continuous improvement and delivering commercially sound HR solutions that make a real impact.
