We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Services Manager to step into a greenfields role where you can build, shape, and elevate how HR services are delivered across a large, complex organisation. The opportunity
This is a highly visible leadership role where you’ll take ownership of the HR services function, ensuring the seamless delivery of core HR processes, systems, and policies. You’ll lead a small team, partner closely with senior leaders, and drive operational excellence through well-designed, fit-for-purpose frameworks.

You’ll play a key role in strengthening HR infrastructure — from systems and data integrity through to policy governance and service delivery enabling the wider business to operate effectively and confidently.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small HR services team, building capability, consistency, and a strong service mindset
  • Own and continuously improve end-to-end HR service delivery, including contracts, onboarding/offboarding, employee lifecycle processes, and payroll inputs
  • Drive the optimisation and integration of HR systems (HRIS), ensuring data accuracy, reporting capability, and user adoption
  • Establish, review, and maintain HR policies and frameworks, ensuring alignment with New Zealand employment legislation and organisational needs
  • Design and embed efficient, scalable processes that enhance the employee and leader experience
  • Act as the subject matter expert for HR services, providing trusted advice and ensuring compliant, high-quality delivery
  • Partner with HR Business Partners, Payroll, and leadership teams to align HR services with broader organisational strategy
  • Champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and lift operational performance

About you
You are an experienced HR professional with a strong background in HR services, operations, or shared services environments. You bring a systems and process mindset, with a proven ability to build and optimise HR frameworks that are practical, scalable, and aligned to business needs.
You’re a confident people leader who enjoys developing others and creating a high-performing, customer-focused team. You’re equally comfortable getting into the detail while keeping a strategic lens on how HR services can evolve.

You will bring:

  • Strong experience across HR systems (HRIS), processes, and service delivery models
  • Proven leadership capability, with experience managing and developing HR coordinators or specialists
  • Solid understanding of New Zealand employment legislation and policy frameworks
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to simplify complexity and drive efficiency
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to influence and build trust at all levels
