About the role

The BAS Manager holds a pivotal role in the accounting firm, overseeing administration, reporting, business advisory services, and strategic partnerships. You will be responsible for a diverse array of functions, including the completion of complex accounts, provision of specialized tax advice, meeting of billing targets, and fostering staff development.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading and supervising a team of 4-6 accounting professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Fostering a collaborative and productive work environment 
• Monitoring performance metrics and implementing strategies to optimize efficiencies, and effectiveness.
• Overseeing administration and workflow management
• Completing complex accounts for the accounting group and providing business advisory services to our clients that include due diligence, cash flows, budgeting and specialized tax advice.
• Preparing comprehensive management reports.
• Stakeholder relationship management and business development. 
• Project managing the implementation of key initiatives.

  About you

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• A CA/CPA qualification (preferred)
• 5 year’s proven experience in a similar leadership role within the accounting industry.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand’s tax laws, accounting principles, and financial regulations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
• Advanced knowledge of technology and software for workflow management.
• Working knowledge accounting software, such as Xero
• The ability to think strategically with a mindset towards efficiency and growth.
• A good understanding of how to manage and drive projects to successful completion.
