About the role
  
An exciting and newly created sole charge marketing manager role, join a fun, friendly and engaging team who are all passionate about the work they do.
  
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising & Partnerships you will lead the Marketing function for the Cancer Society Wellington Division. This varied role includes planning, organising, coordinating, and executing the Cancer Society Wellington Division’s annual marketing plan across all departments that will lead to increased brand recognition and engagement with the Cancer Society, as well as increased donations. Together with all key stakeholders you’ll ensure the timely implementation of the plan.
  
Key responsibilities

  • Developing an annual Marketing Plan.  
  • Contribute to the wider fundraising departments strategy and targets through active participation in fundraising meetings and other activities or projects as required.  
  • Manage marketing expenditure and ensure it is within approved budgets.  
  • Ensure the Cancer Society’s brand is maintained to a high standard across all media.  
  • Work closely with external marketing and communication contractors to ensure work is delivered to budget, on time and to a high standard.  
  • Monitor KPIs across digital marketing channels, analyse data, and generate reports to track progress and identify areas for optimisation. Provide insightful reports to key stakeholders on performance  

The successful candidate will have a high level of communication skills including the ability to empathise with others. You will be a critical member of the team bringing a positive attitude and willingness to help in all capacities. In addition to this, the successful candidate will have the following:

  • 5 years minimum experience in a marketing role.
  • Previous marketing and fundraising experience in a not-for-profit is highly desirable.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends and technologies.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with proven experience in producing materials for a variety of audiences and platforms.
  • Experience and knowledge of digital communications and marketing best practice.  
  • Proactive and opportunity-seeking mindset.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and using programmes such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Survey Monkey, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Microsoft Suite or similar.
