Product Manager – Workday HRIS & FMIS
1–2 days per week in office | Waikato
17–18 month Contract opportunity | Starting April 2026
  
Our client is embarking on a significant enterprise transformation, implementing Workday Finance, HR, Payroll and Procurement across their business.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Product Manager / Project Manager with strong Workday ERP delivery expertise to lead a large-scale, cross-functional programme of work that will shape the future operating model and  experience across the organisation.
The programme is expected to run for approximately 17–18 months, with delivery commencing in April. 
  
This role will sit at the core of the initiative, working closely with senior leaders, internal SMEs, and the System Integrator (SI).
  
As Product Manager, you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Workday implementation across Finance, HR and Payroll
  • Own and maintain integrated project plans, RAID logs, milestones and governance reporting
  • Coordinate cross-functional internal teams alongside the SI partner
  • Align solution design to organisational strategy, operating model and tikanga
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies and resource timing across multiple delivery streams
  • Provide confident, clear recommendations to support executive decision-making
  • Lead and mentor Business Analysts, SMEs and aligned managers
  • Ensure strong collaboration across digital and wider organisational portfolios

Essential Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience in project or product management
  • Proven delivery of large-scale ERP Workday implementations
  • Strong understanding of Finance, HR and Payroll processes
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional, integrated teams
  • Strong vendor and stakeholder management capability
  • Experience operating in complex organisational environments
