About the Role | Mō te Tūranga:
This a rare and exciting opportunity for a talented Project Accountant to join an organisation within the education sector with a nationwide footprint and take ownership of their FMIS, HRIS, budgeting and month end processes.  

The role sits within the finance team and provides high level support to the Finance Manager and wider team through technical advice, systems expertise and operational oversight of their transactional accounting functions.

Their offices are based in Wellington CBD, near the train station and close to other public transport links.

What you’ll be doing
This role is designed to manage Early Childhood New Zealand’s FMIS and HRIS function from a technical perspective and provide on-site support to users around functionality, system enhancements and BAU testing.

You must also have a background in hands on management / financial accounting and feel confident in conducting budgeting exercises and handling the month end process as well.

If you are a Senior Accountant who has developed a passion for the systems space, then this will appeal to you!

As an experienced Project Accountant, you will be expected to have the following skill set.

• CA or CPA certification
• Exposure to FMIS project environments from a technical perspective
• Working understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes
• Able to conceptualise and model complex reconciliations such as revenue in advance and student fee exposures
• Fixed Asset Register management
• Month and year end processes
