We are partnering with a government organisation to recruit experienced Senior Regulators to join a specialist regulatory team. These roles sit within a complex licensing and compliance environment and play a critical part in maintaining system integrity, with a strong focus on accountability and risk management.

This is an opportunity to step into a highly specialised role where you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, applying sound judgement to complex regulatory decisions. Working within a collaborative and purpose-driven environment, you’ll contribute to meaningful outcomes that support communities across Aotearoa.

Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering risk-based regulatory decisions across licensing, compliance and enforcement
• Leading and conducting investigations, including analysing information, undertaking site visits and producing reports
• Assessing applications and making robust, defensible recommendations
• Managing complaints, intelligence and non-compliance matters
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and regulated entities
• Providing technical expertise, mentoring and guidance to colleagues
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and regulatory best practice

About you:
• Proven experience in a regulatory, compliance, investigation or risk-based environment
• Background in audit, accounting, law, financial analysis or similar is highly regarded
• Strong ability to interpret legislation and apply complex technical information
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Sound judgement, critical thinking and ability to navigate complexity
• Experience mentoring or supporting others is advantageous
