Senior Business Analyst – FMIS
 
1–2 days per week in office | Waikato
17–18 month contract opportunity | Starting March 2026


Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with strong experience in Finance and Workday FMIS implementations to support the Workday Finance stream of their transformation programme. This is a high-impact opportunity to drive business analysis, process improvement, and data alignment.
In this role, you will be responsible for gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements for the Finance workstream, validating them with internal stakeholders and SMEs, and ensuring the Workday Finance solution is designed to meet the business needs of the organisation.
  
Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyse finance business requirements and document them in line with Workday’s best practices
  • Validate requirements with internal stakeholders, SMEs, and functional leads
  • Document and map current and future state finance business processes, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Support data cleansing and migration activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of finance data
  • Collaborate with SI functional leads to ensure finance solution design is aligned with business needs
  • Support finance testing activities, defining test scenarios and acceptance criteria, tracking defects, and assisting with retesting
  • Contribute to change readiness efforts, including training materials and communications

Essential Experience:

  • 5–10 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in Finance and FMIS systems (Workday experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of finance business processes, particularly Workday FMIS
  • Experience with data cleansing, data migration, and finance process mapping
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure solution design meets business needs
  • Experience with testing, UAT, and change management activities
