About the role

A key support role for internal stakeholders, the Senior HR Advisor is the first point of contact for all HR advice. Reporting to the HR Manager, the role is responsible for coaching and mentoring on processes to build competency and ensure best practice HR is applied. The Senior HR Advisor also works on projects to streamline HR processes and contribute to the organisation’s strategic objectives.

Duties

• Support frontline operational leaders with HR-related queries and issues
• Coach and advise leaders through employee disciplinary processes and investigations
• Lead and participate in HR related projects and initiatives
• Maintain all HR-related documentation and information
• Drive a positive and engaging workplace culture

Skills & experience

• Previous experience in a similar operational HR Advisor position
• Strong knowledge of NZ employment law
• Experience in all levels of employee relations
• Ideally experience working in a unionised environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
