We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Network Engineer with NZ SV Security Clearance to work within an evolving a highly complex, mission-critical network environment.

Supporting multi-vendor technologies across data centres, large campuses, and close to 100 remote sites (including overseas operations), this is a role where your expertise directly supports national outcomes.

Based on Auckland’s North Shore you will be working within a specialist networking team to provide a high level of networking expertise. 

The core role responsibilities are as follows:

• Build, maintain, and support large-scale IPSec VPN networks
• Maintain and enhance data centre switching fabrics
• Proven experience with Cisco and Juniper routing, switching and Palo Alto within an enterprise environment is essential for success.
• Exposure with OSPF, BGP routing and IPSec VPNs will be an advantage.
• Ability to partner with field teams to troubleshoot and resolve remote site issues.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams to build, test, commission, troubleshoot, and decommission services and equipment
• Experience working closely with vendors and public sector agencies is an advantage.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a small team of network engineers
• Ability to partner with external vendor partners to ensure a high level of networking delivery support.
• Cisco CCNP or CCIE, Juniper or Palo Alto certifications will be highly regarded.

This role is based on Auckland’s North Shore with some regional travel required.

Security Clearance (Mandatory) Due to the nature of this role, SV security clearance is required as a minimum.

Candidates holding a higher clearance will be viewed favorably.
