Senior HR Advisor – Operational Portfolio

  • On site position
  • 12-month fixed-term contract

We’re partnering with a large and highly operational organisation seeking a strong Senior HR Advisor with proven experience in complex Employee Relations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy environment, can hit the ground running, and is confident supporting managers across a wide range of ER and HR matters.

About the Role
You’ll work across an operational workforce, providing high-quality advice and guidance on wellbeing, performance, employment relations and the occasional highly complex case. No two days are the same, and you’ll play a key part in ensuring managers are confident, capable and heading in the right direction.
This is a varied portfolio that includes:

  • Managing and advising on complex ER cases
  • Supporting workforce planning and capability development
  • Providing proactive HR advice across best practice, culture, and people initiatives
  • Remuneration and employee advisory work
  • Supporting change management, team development and performance improvement
  • Reviewing and advising on employment agreements and ensuring compliance with current legislation

About You
We’re looking for someone who is experienced, resilient, and comfortable working in a remote or geographically dispersed team. You’ll bring strong judgement, a calm approach, and the ability to build trust quickly with stakeholders.

You’ll also enjoy being part of an open, collaborative HR team of around 12, with a wealth of experience and plenty of support when you need it.

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex ER matters
  • Strong understanding of NZ employment legislation
  • Ability to provide pragmatic, solutions-focused HR advice
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced, operational environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive approach to improving workforce capability and culture
