Senior Systems Accountant – Contract Wellington CBD | ASAP Start – 25 September 2026 | $100–$135 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Accountant for a contract role supporting a key financial systems enhancement programme. This position will run from ASAP through to end of September 2026 and is based in Wellington CBD.

This role will suit a systems-focused accountant who enjoys improving financial processes, implementing system functionality, and working at the intersection of finance and technology.

The role as the Senior Systems Accountant, you will provide specialist expertise to support the implementation and optimisation of CiAnywhere (CIA) within the organisation’s finance systems environment.

You will play a key role in enhancing functionality, strengthening financial processes, and improving reporting capability across the organisation.

Key areas of focus include:

• Budgeting and forecasting improvements
• Enhancing the contract system by introducing schedule lines to enable better tracking of contract spend
• Project accounting improvements
• Strengthening management reporting capability
• Supporting system configuration, testing, and implementation activities
• Working closely with finance and stakeholders to ensure successful system adoption

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Strong experience as a Systems Accountant or Senior Accountant with financial systems expertise
• Specialist knowledge of CiAnywhere (CIA)
• Experience supporting system implementation or enhancement initiatives
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into system solutions
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
• A current Tech 1 CIA clearance is required for this role.
