Socio-Economic Development Advisor
12-Month Fixed Term | Auckland | Full-Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Advisor to join a purpose-driven organisation delivering long-term community outcomes across Auckland.

This role sits within a Social Transformation function and provides programme support, advisory expertise, project coordination and governance reporting across a diverse portfolio of socio-economic initiatives. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you’ll help connect programme delivery, insights and data to support informed decision-making and successful outcomes.

About the Role
This is a varied and highly visible position where you’ll combine advisory capability, project coordination, reporting and stakeholder engagement to support programmes focused on:

  • Socio-economic development
  • Employment and skills initiatives
  • Affordable housing outcomes
  • Community activation and place-based programmes
  • Social procurement and economic development initiatives

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prepare governance and performance reporting for senior leadership and decision-makers.
  • Analyse programme information, identify trends, risks and opportunities, and provide practical recommendations.
  • Support programme planning, tracking, delivery and performance monitoring.
  • Develop presentations, briefings, reports and advisory papers.
  • Lead or coordinate assigned projects and workstreams from initiation through to completion.
  • Build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain programme plans, dashboards, documentation and reporting systems.
  • Support administrative processes including meeting coordination, action tracking, budgets and contract administration.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance programme delivery and organisational effectiveness.

About You
We’re looking for someone who enjoys connecting information, solving problems and supporting positive community outcomes.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2-3+ years’ experience in an advisory, project coordination, programme support or reporting role.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to turn complex information into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Experience preparing governance reports, briefings or decision-support material.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with sound judgement and attention to detail.
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
