We are partnering with a nationally significant health sector programme seeking a commercially astute Strategic Finance Analyst to support a large-scale digital modernisation initiative.

This enterprise-wide programme is progressing through discovery and detailed business case stages, forming part of a nationwide transformation effort. It presents a genuine opportunity to contribute to one of the most significant digital investments across New Zealand’s health landscape.

The Opportunity

Working across multiple workstreams, you will provide robust financial analysis and modelling to support the development of investment and business cases.

The environment is fast paced, with several initiatives progressing concurrently, requiring strong technical capability and the confidence to engage a broad range of stakeholders.

This role will suit someone who enjoys complexity, can see the bigger picture, and understands how strong financial foundations underpin strategic decision making.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver robust financial analysis and modelling to support investment and business case development
• Validate financial assumptions, cost estimates and benefit projections in line with Health NZ standards
• Ensure investment cases demonstrate value for money, affordability and long-term financial sustainability
• Support forecasting, financial planning and detailed costing analysis
• Analyse current state and future state cost scenarios
• Extract, interpret and synthesise financial and operational reporting
• Engage stakeholders across multiple organisations to obtain data and validate inputs
• Navigate complex finance environments across enterprise settings

You will be working alongside major technology partners and specialist consultancies contributing to programme delivery.

About You

You are practical, solutions focused and comfortable operating in large, multi-stakeholder environments. 

• Proven experience in financial or business analysis within large programmes or transformation environments
• Strong experience supporting investment cases, business cases, forecasting and costing
• Advanced modelling capability and confidence working with complex financial datasets
• Ability to assess affordability, financial sustainability and value for money
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• A proactive, problem-solving approach
• Exposure to payroll or related finance processes would be advantageous
