Tāmaki Regeneration Company (TRC) is a values-led organisation looking for two dedicated, people-focused Tenancy Managers to join our Tamaki Housing Association team. These are full-time opportunities, with one permanent role and one 12-month fixed-term role available.

In these roles, you’ll deliver end-to-end tenancy management services across TRC’s social housing portfolio. You’ll work closely with Area Managers, navigators, and a wide range of internal and external partners building strong relationships with tenants and whānau, supporting sustainable tenancies, and helping ensure positive outcomes for individuals and the wider community.

About the role
As a Tenancy Manager, you’ll manage a portfolio of social housing tenancies and be front facing in the community. This is a varied, autonomous role where no two days are the same.

You’ll be out and about completing home visits, supporting tenants through challenges, addressing rent arrears, managing issues, and working collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to find the right outcomes.

This is a role for someone who is confident having respectful but honest conversations, comfortable working in people’s homes, and motivated by making a real difference.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing end-to-end tenancy portfolios in line with the Residential Tenancies Act
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with tenants and whānau
  • Addressing rent arrears and supporting tenants to sustain their tenancy
  • Responding to complaints and resolving issues appropriately
  • Conducting property inspections and coordinating maintenance
  • Working closely with navigators, community providers and internal teams
  • Representing the organisation at the Tenancy Tribunal when required

About you
You’re practical, resilient, and people-centred, with a genuine understanding of the communities you work with. You bring empathy, confidence, and sound judgement and know when to support, when to challenge, and where to draw boundaries.

We’re open to different backgrounds, but you’ll likely bring:

  • Experience in property management, social housing, or tenancy services
  • Confidence discussing sensitive matters such as debt and conflict resolutions
  • Strong cultural awareness and the ability to work respectfully with diverse communities
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles
  • Solid communication skills and good written documentation
  • A full, unrestricted driver’s licence
  • Comfort using systems and Microsoft Office (training provided on internal systems)

Why join Tāmaki Regeneration Company?

  • Meaningful, purpose-led work that makes a tangible impact
  • A supportive, values-driven team with a strong sense of humour
  • 5 weeks’ annual leave and other perks.
  • Flexible working hours (role is community-based and front-facing)
