Join a values-led social housing organisation is looking for dedicated, people-focused Tenancy Managers to join its tenancy services team. These are full-time opportunities with permanent role and 12-month fixed-term roles available.

In these roles, you’ll deliver end-to-end tenancy management services across a social housing portfolio. You’ll work closely with Area Managers, navigators, and a wide range of internal and external partners, building strong relationships with tenants and whānau, supporting sustainable tenancies, and helping ensure positive outcomes for individuals and the wider community.

About the role
As a Tenancy Manager, you’ll manage a portfolio of social housing tenancies and be front-facing in the community. This is a varied, autonomous role where no two days are the same.

You’ll be out and about completing home visits, supporting tenants through challenges, addressing rent arrears, managing issues, and working collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to find the right outcomes.

This is a role for someone who is confident having respectful but honest conversations, comfortable working in people’s homes, and motivated by making a real difference.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing end-to-end tenancy portfolios in line with the Residential Tenancies Act
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with tenants and whānau
  • Addressing rent arrears and supporting tenants to sustain their tenancy
  • Responding to complaints and resolving issues appropriately
  • Conducting property inspections and coordinating maintenance
  • Working closely with navigators, community providers, and internal teams
  • Representing the organisation at the Tenancy Tribunal when required

About you
You’re practical, resilient, and people-centred, with a genuine understanding of the communities you work with. You bring empathy, confidence, and sound judgement and know when to support, when to challenge, and where to draw boundaries.
We’re open to different backgrounds, but you’ll likely bring:

  • Experience in social housing or tenancy services
  • Confidence discussing sensitive matters such as debt and conflict resolution
  • Strong cultural awareness and the ability to work respectfully with diverse communities
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles
  • Solid communication skills and good written documentation
  • A full, unrestricted driver’s licence
  • Comfort using systems and Microsoft Office, with training provided on internal systems
